Emergency Management Agency & E-911 Services
Department of Emergency Services (DES)
The Potter County Department of Emergency Services is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents through its oversight of both the E-911 services and the Emergency Management Agency (EMA). The E-911 services are responsible for receiving and routing emergency calls, although all 911 calls from Potter County are dispatched through neighboring Tioga County’s center. This collaboration ensures prompt and efficient response times for fire, police, and medical emergencies.
In addition to E-911 services, the Emergency Management Agency plays a critical role in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters, both natural and man-made. The EMA is responsible for coordinating disaster response efforts across local agencies and ensuring that resources are properly allocated during emergencies. From planning and conducting emergency drills to managing public safety communications, the Department of Emergency Services works tirelessly to protect the residents and property of Potter County.
