The Potter County Auditors are responsible for reviewing the financial accounts and operations of the county to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds. This independent office, comprised of elected officials, is directly accountable to the citizens of Potter County and operates under Pennsylvania law. The Auditors conduct annual audits of all county offices and departments, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and proper use of taxpayer money. Common requests to the Auditors’ office include accessing audit reports or inquiries about county financial oversight.
Certain state and federal government programs also require counties to retain the services of independent auditors for review of fiscal operations through a process known as a “single-county audit.” Potter County has retained the services of Zelenkofske Axelrod LLC of Harrisburg to perform the single-county audit.
